The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) has introduced updated rules for passengers carrying power banks onboard, aiming to enhance flight safety. The key requirements are as follows:
🔋 3C Certification
All power banks allowed on board must have passed China Compulsory Certification (3C) and display a clear and complete “CCC” mark on the body. Power banks without this mark, with blurred, damaged, or illegible labels, are strictly prohibited from being carried onto the plane.
⚡ Rated Energy Limits
Power banks with a rated energy of 100Wh or less can be carried without airline approval.
Power banks with a rated energy of over 100Wh but not exceeding 160Wh may be carried with prior airline approval, and each passenger is limited to two units.
Power banks exceeding 160Wh are not allowed on the aircraft under any circumstances.
🚫 Banned Power Banks
Any power bank that has been recalled by the manufacturer or is part of a recalled batch is strictly forbidden. In addition, power banks with worn-out exteriors or unclear labels may also be disqualified at security checkpoints.
These regulations are designed to ensure aviation safety and prevent accidents caused by substandard or unsafe lithium battery devices onboard.
