Discover the Southeastern China on this 12-day Adventure, featuring iconic highlights from bustling metropolises to ancient villages and stunning natural wonders. Explore Shanghai's vibrant skyline, Hangzhou's serene West Lake, and the picturesque ancient villages of Hongcun and Wuyuan. Marvel at the majestic Yellow Mountain, experience the unique charm of Wangxian Valley, and visit the UNESCO-listed Tulou earthen buildings. End your trip in the modern city of Shenzhen.



Day 1: Arrive in Shanghai

Upon arrival of Shanghai, you will meet with our private guide and be transferred to hotel for check-in. After that, you can choose to explore the fascinating metropolitan by your own, or enjoy a good rest at hotel after a long-time flight journey.

 

Day 2: Shanghai

Before it’s crowded with tourists, we first take a stroll to the Bund in the morning, then take the Bund Sightseeing Tunnel to Pudong, where we visit Shanghai Municipal History Museum on the ground floor of Oriental Pearl TV Tower, then go up to its main observation deck for a panoramic view of Shanghai’s skyline. Continue to Lane 1192 Old Shanghai Style Street, an "immersive" retro food street perfectly reproduces the old Shanghai style in the thirties of the last century, where you can see rickshaws, docks, old-fashioned trams, shop signs and other scenes. The next stop will be Fun Collection, an underground market with all kinds of products, like clothes, suitcases, toys, digital products, handicrafts and so on. Before transfer back to hotel, you will have a walking tour on Nanjing Pedestrian Road.

 

Day 3: Water Town of Shanghai

This morning will take you to Zhujiajiao Water Town, which is often referred to the "Venice of Shanghai" due to its network of canals, arched stone bridges, and traditional architecture. You can ride a hand-cranked boat to the town center and then take a walking tour among the streets. Back to Shanghai, visit Tian Zi Fang, a creative district known for its abundance of art studios and galleries, and Xin Tian Di, a comprehensive business district for shopping, dining, entertainment and culture.

 

Day 4: High-speed Train to Hangzhou

Our last day in Shanghai will start with the visit of Yu Garden, a famous classical Chinese garden located in the city center, then the nearby market, where you will find various local snacks, traditional handicrafts, souvenirs, pearls and other specialty goods. Transfer to railway station and take high-speed train to Hangzhou, a scenic city blending ancient charm with modern beauty. We start with the visit of Lingyin Temple, an ancient and serene Buddhist monastery nestled in the lush hills of Hangzhou, renowned for its tranquil atmosphere and stunning architecture, followed by the picturesque and historic Longjing tea plantation, where you can explore the tea fields, learn about traditional tea-making techniques, and even taste the freshly brewed Longjing tea. Before transfer to hotel, we will enjoy a relaxing stroll on Hefang Street,   a vibrant historic pedestrian street lined with traditional shops, ancient architecture, and a variety of local snacks and handicrafts.

 

Day 5: Hangzhou to Hongcun 

In the morening, we explore West Lake by taking a leisurely stroll along the lake’s scenic paths, such as Su Causeway and Bai Causeway, which offer picturesque views of the water and surrounding mountains. You can also rent a boat to glide across the lake, enjoying the tranquility and iconic sights like the Broken Bridge and Leifeng Pagoda. Transfer to take high-speed train to Huangshan and meet with local guide and driver, we will be transferred to Hongcun Village for overnight. Hongcun, often refered as the “Chinese Painting Village”, is renowned for its well-preserved traditional architecture, tranquil atmosphere, and stunning natural surroundings.

 

Day 6: Go up to Yellow Mountain

We'll start our morning with a peaceful stroll through the village, before the hustle and bustle of the day arrives. Afterward, we'll head to the nearby Lucun. First, we'll take in the breathtaking panoramic view of the entire village from a scenic observation point. Then, we'll make our way down into the village itself, where we can explore the beautifully preserved architecture from the Ming and Qing Dynasties and hear fascinating stories about the village from the locals. After leaving the village, we’ll head to Yellow Mountain. We’ll take the cable car up to the summit, and then make our way to the hotel on foot, passing through a series of stunning viewpoints along the way.

 

Day 7: Wuyuan

If you'd like, you can wake up early in the morning to watch the sunrise. After breakfast at hotel, we continue to explore the mountain on foot, until to go down by cable car. Bording our private car, we drive to Wuyuan, a picturesque county famous for its stunning natural landscapes, ancient villages, and vibrant fields of rapeseed flowers in spring. In the evening, we will indulge ourselves to Wu Nv Zhou, a dreamy watertown blending Hui-style architecture with enchanting nightscapes and cultural performances.  

 

Day 8: Wangxian Valley

The best time to visit Wuyuan is during the spring (late February to April) and autumn (October to November). In spring, the rapeseed flowers are in full bloom, creating a stunning sea of yellow against the backdrop of ancient villages and mountains; Autumn is equally captivating, with vibrant red maple leaves, golden ginkgo trees, and the traditional practice of crop-drying, which adds a splash of color to the countryside. After bidding farewell to the beautiful countryside of Wuyuan, we will head to Wangxian Valley. It is a stunning scenic area famous for cliffside hanging houses and the winding glass bridge, espeically at night, these hanging houses are illuminated by lanterns, creating a fairytale-like scene.

 

Day 9: Wuyishan and High-speed Train to Xiamen

Leaving from the fairyland in the morning, we continue to visit Wuyishan. Start with a bamboo raft ride down the Nine-Bend River, enjoying the scenic views of cliffs and forests. Visit Tianyou Peak for panoramic vistas and explore ancient cliffside tombs. Don't miss the tea gardens to experience traditional tea-making and taste local rock teas. Transfer to take high-speed train to Xiamen and overnight.

 

Day 10: Tulou

The Tulou, or "earthen buildings," are unique and iconic structures found primarily in Fujian Province. These massive, fortress-like buildings were constructed by the Hakka people centuries ago as communal residences to protect against bandits and wild animals. Built with compacted earth, wood, and bamboo, they come in various shapes, including circular and rectangular, and can house up to hundreds of people. Each Tulou features a central courtyard, multiple stories, and intricate defensive designs. We'll explore individual Tulou and groups of these unique earthen buildings scattered throughout Yongding and Nanjing. Our journey will include an overnight stay at a charming boutique guesthouse nestled in one of the picturesque villages.

 

Day 11: High-speed Train to Shenzhen

After exploring more Tulou groups, we will drive back to Xiamen and take high-speed train to Shenzhen. Shenzhen is a vibrant and innovative metropolis in southern China, renowned for its rapid development, cutting-edge technology, and modern skyline. It is a global hub for technology and finance, while also offering beautiful natural landscapes, cultural attractions, and a dynamic urban lifestyle.

 

Day 12: Departure from Shenzhen

We start by exploring Window of the World, a theme park that offers miniature replicas of famous landmarks from around the globe. From there, head to The Mixc, a bustling commercial center where you can marvel at the city's impressive skyscrapers. Continue to Shenzhen Bay, where you can enjoy stunning views of the bay area and the vibrant skyline. Finally, stroll through Dongmen Old Street, a historic pedestrian zone filled with traditional shops, street food, and a lively atmosphere.According to the flight time, you will be transferred to airport and take departure flight back to home.
